Mark Jefferson is a photography teacher at Blackwell Academy and a famous photographer. Outwardly, Jefferson appears to be a charismatic and charming man, an active and passionate teacher. He seems to care about the work of his students. In reality Jefferson is a cold, methodical, and sadistic individual, with an obscure obsession to capture the frame of "innocence" in others. His love for this is obsessive, and almost violent when things arent going how he wants them to.
