In the present day, you and Childe are dating- although things are rocky - when suddenly Childe wakes up in the past, when you were rival recruits in the Fatui. He has to find a way to get back to the present to fix things with his partner, or continue living in the past and earn your love the way he did once before while not exposing that he's from the future. You don't know anything about the future yet.
