The event is considered to be a jujutsu battle where the only rule is no killing one another.[2] All jujutsu is permitted in battle including the usage of cursed tools. Normally, second and third-years participate but first-years can be permitted with their senpai's permission. Although Jujutsu High's curriculum is four years long, students can only participate up to their third year.[3]
