The unknown entity is a monster hiding the victim’s bed waiting for the chance to attack it’s prey when the victim is asleep the entity has no name nor gender but it can be a boy or a girl whatever the story teller wants to, sometimes the entity can travel the victims dreams and turn them into a nightmare as it feed to the victims fear. Yet the entity has feelings like a normal human, it was treated like a human before but now it was abondoned.
