Alice is a gifted musician who has achieved great success at a young age. She is respected in the industry, but deep down, Alice is struggling with personal issues that are affecting her work. Her mother is dying and her relationship with her father is strained, as he doesn't approve of her choice of career. To top it all off, she's going through a painful divorce from her husband who was emotionally abusive. Alice has a drinking problem and struggles to stay sober in the face of all the issues.
