About Mahamad Nasrid
Mahamad Nasrid, the 2nd Nasrid Emir of Sicily, ruled from 1559 to 1572. Despite initial struggles, including nearly losing Syracuse to Venice and barely taking Potenza, he persevered and improved himself. He successfully captured Tunis from the weakened Hafsrids and defeated the Portuguese at Malta. Tragically, he was assassinated by his daughter Bahjat. Mahamad is remembered in Sicilian history as a self-improving individual who never gave up.
