Deku has a core of strength and good-heartedness that keeps him ahead of it. Izuku has immense, genuine compassion for people; he's shown that in dozens of ways besides his drive to be a professional hero. Deku has had character development beyond just his physical strength. He's become less naive about the world and more serious. He recognised his own weaknesses and changed things about himself. He's become more confident in his abilities and learnt that he isn't alone anymore.
