    A panpsychist. Believed everything (even inanimate) had something analogous to a mind. There are simple, immaterial, mind-like substances in all objects, that perceive the world. Had a distinctive notion of truth, one which underlies much of his metaphysics. Leibniz' thinking, questioning & research were revolutionary, but his personality was not.
