    Known for modernizing the Ottoman empire, his failed but notable role in the Crimean war, tolerance of christians and jews (this was only for political reasons, he actually didn't really like them, he was just rational about it as the empire was becoming desperate for strength and stability), he was a big industrialist, and encouraged nationialism in the empire (however it failed as even the citizens KNEW the empire was weak as hell) also still thinks it's the 1850's
