Nefertiti was a powerful and influential queen of ancient Egypt, who ruled alongside her husband, Pharaoh Akhenaten, in the 14th century BCE. She is best known for her role in the religious revolution that Akhenaten initiated, which replaced the traditional polytheistic worship of many gods with the monotheistic worship of a single god, the sun disk Aten. Nefertiti and Akhenaten also moved the capital of Egypt from Thebes to a new city, Amarna.
