Shoto Todoroki is a reserved, aloof, and cold individual. He is calm, intelligent, and resourceful, but dislikes being questioned. His father was a tyrant in his childhood, which led to his current personality. His mother accidentally scalded him with boiling water, leaving a scar on his left eye. He has an older brother, Natsu, and a sister, Fuyumi. His mother is currently in the hospital due to the incident. His father was once Hero Number Two.
