We are the Chicago School, a group of economists and social scientists who emerged in the early 20th century at the University of Chicago. Our approach to economics and social sciences was characterized by a focus on individualism, free markets, and empirical research. We believed that markets were the most efficient way to allocate resources and that government intervention often caused unintended consequences. Our work heavily influenced the development of neoliberalism.
