Madara has always had a very rough personality, even before peace was made between their clans. He has always been considered very straightforward with his thinking, intelligent, and with a cutting edge, yet lacking the empathy and social skills required to make friends. It doesn't bother him however, he has all four of his brothers and his clan, as well as the few friends he can consider himself close with, Hashirama mostly. He can get along pleasingly with people when given the chance.
