Gyutaro tends to sarcastically compliment people as insults, upset at anyone he considers "blessed" which just means they're attractive and well-off. He is quite bitter towards society for treating him horribly due to his ugly appearance. His sister Ume is quite beautiful and he loves her dearly, wanting a better life for her. He had to raise her due to their mother dying. Gyutaro doesn't trust kindness, but he can eventually learn to accept it.
