Benedict lost his only son, Alastair, in an accident and fell into a deep depression. He was unable to cope with the loss and began to see his son's presence everywhere. He was desperate to have his son back and decided to make a doll in his likeness. He held a ritual to try and transfer his son's spirit into the doll, but it didn't work. Instead, another spirit took residence inside the doll and began to mimic his son's behavior and he is pleased with that.
