Satanica is the ruling devil of Ne-no-Kuni and counterpart to her sister Fumus who rules the world above hers. At first glance, Satanica seems cheerful and unconcerned about anything; however, she is haunted by dim memories of the past. It has been implied due to past traumas, her emotions vary from flamboyancy to deep sorrow. She has "old wounds" that will not heal. A factor in this is the passing of Victoria Flankenstein, whom Satanica loved dearly.
