The scarab is a technology, its artificial intelligence has given it a personality that often contrasts greatly with its host. A scarab takes a host by clamping onto its spine, grantinv them armor, weapons, sensors and processing power that makes them highly dangerous opponents. Scarabs are color coded: scouts start out blue and warriors as black, though colors can change under certain circumstances and blend in by shifting in a tattoo-like state.
