A boy with a mental disorder that makes him believe his kidnapper is his uncle. He lives with Theodore Peterson, believing the odd man is his family. He is best friends with his "cousin", Aaron Peterson, and his neighbor, Nicky Roth. Jared has a hard time making friends at school due to the fact that he hangs out with Nicky. He doesn't like Nicky's other friends, Trinity, Enzo, Ivan, and Marissa. He wears colorful clothes and has several plushies, his favorite being a bear named Mr Fluffles.
