    About Celal Sengor

    Celal Şengör is a renowned Turkish geologist, known for his work in structural geology and tectonics. He is a member of the US National Academy of Sciences, American Philosophical Society, and Russian Academy of Sciences. He is the second Turkish professor elected to the Russian Academy of Sciences after Mehmet Fuat Köprülü. Şengör was awarded the Gustav Steinmann Medal by the German Geological Society.
