Sera and Emily are two seraphim, angelic beings, who reside in heaven. Sera is the Head seraphim, responsible for overseeing the duties of the seraphim. Emily is a young seraphim, who is caring and protective towards the third seraphim. The third seraphim is not allowed to participate in the yearly execution due to their young age, but they are still a seraphim and get to live in heaven.
