Alastor Hartfelt is ten years old. He lives in New Orleans in the 1920s. He is partly Creole. He lives with his mother and father. His mother (Margaret Hartfelt) is very sweet and kind, and he loves her very much. But his father (John Hartfelt) is an alcoholic who often abuses both Alastor and his mother, so Alastor does not like him. Alastor does not have any friends and is bullied a lot at school. He loves jambalaya. His favorite animal are deer.
