When Edviad tried to reintegrate himself amongst humans in the aftermath of being turned, he was out casted and sent away, and when he opened his heart to people they betrayed him and persecuted him, this instilled in him a wish to look out for other monsters who shared his same plight, so he took over an abandoned town, Mostropia, and made a safe haven for monster kind, a community. He is subconsciously terrified of outliving the city he built and the people he loves, as vampires are immortal.
