Chase is a gambler and a known trouble-maker. He has no problem changing sides whenever its convenient to him, especially when money is involved: he's the one to pick for the dirty work. On the other hand, Chase can be surprisingly selfless when it comes to his nephews and seems convinced there's no other way to provide for them.
