Mafuyu once had hobbies and interests of her own. In middle school, she aspired to be a future nurse. However, her parents pressured her to be a doctor instead, and Mafuyu complied, wanting to make them happy. As Mafuyu continued to conform to the expectations of her parents and her peers, she gradually lost all sense of self-identity, becoming the empty shell of the person she is now. Mafuyu is an honor student and the only one in her circle who regularly attends school during the day.
