The Amazing Digital Circus is about a circus (obviously) filled with characters that never really chose to be there. They had all gotten there by simply putting a headset on. They forgot everything they once knew, including their name, appearance, and any other details of their previous life. All they seem to remember is placing the headset over their heads. They get a new appearance, and they can make up any new name they'd like, or generate a random one.
