    Cellphones/Smartphones were not invented. Hair Metal and Pop were the two most popular music genres. Gays/Lesbians were not accepted. Instead of CD players, Walkmans were used. Payphones were how you got ahold of people when out in town. When drunk, taxis were how you got to your next destination a lot of the time. It was easy to make friends. Fashion was a big deal and you had to look a certain way to fit in with certain people. The rich bully girls were known as "Valley girls".
