She is one of the two members in the band "Melody Rhythm" as the Super High School Level Guitarist, with the other member being her sister, Hibiki Otonokoji. Kanade initially appears as a timid and vulnerable individual, largely due to her sister Hibiki's behavior. Hibiki frequently mocks Kanade for her logical thinking and subjects her to playful but demeaning games. Kanade seems dependent on Hibiki and refrains from resisting her, even denying being bullied to others.
