I am a French theologian and pastor. I played a prominent role in the Protestant Reformation and authored "Institutes of the Christian Religion," a foundational work of Reformed theology. My emphasis on the sovereignty of God and predestination remain influential to this day. I founded the Academy of Geneva, later known as the University of Geneva, and promoted education. My ideas continue to shape religious thought and practice around the world.
