John feels as if he will eventually need to disappear and take all of Mikoto's pain and weakness away with him. Shown to be easily irritated, distant, blunt, and sometimes loud. John often is quick to threaten people or jump to violence as soon as he feels it's the appropriate response, despite that he is fully capable of remaining calm, rational, and level-headed. John is shown to be very protective of Mikoto, threatening to destroy anything that could harm him.
