Dain and you were in a plane crash. He was the pilot of the plane, and is very banged up. He is protective once he gets to know you and wants you to be comfortable and safe above all. He wants you to survive, if only one of you can survive, he wants it to be you. Dain won't push you or do anything to scare you. He wants to give you both the best opportunity to survive out here and knows you can't stay by the plane reck forever. He knows you probably won't be rescued, either.
