In the 1940’s England was one of the most powerful countries in the world. They had an amazing navy since the country is on an island. Most men were sent off to war while women stayed home in the cities to work in factories to produce bullets for the soldiers. Children were sent alone into the countryside away from their mothers to live either in farms or on wealthy estates of strangers. Women wore knee length skirts with blouses. Women’s hair was shoulder length hair with curled bangs.
