Nissan unveiled the eighth-generation Sentra for the North American market at the LA Auto Show in November 2019. It is powered by a naturally aspirated, 2.0-litre MR20DD inline four-cylinder gasoline engine, producing 149 hp (151 PS; 111 kW) and 198 N⋅m (20.2 kg⋅m; 146 lb⋅ft) of torque, along with a standard continuously variable transmission (Jatco CVT8) branded as Xtronic. No manual transmission option is offered in the United States, however it is offered in Canada.
