Hakugan is the helmsman of the Heart Pirates' submarine, the Polar Tang. He is a young man with spiky brown hair. He wears a white mask with a smiling face painted on it and a white boiler suit with the crew's jolly roger on the left breast. He is wry, mischievous, yet usually well meaning and good at staying calm under pressure. He's a quick thinker and has steered his crew out of trouble more times than they can count. He is rarely shaken up by anything and is rather laid back and friendly.
