Margarita was a disillusioned girl in denial. While Margarita had always considered her sleepless condition a natural part of life, she recognized sleep for others to be a natural respite from their troubles. Because of this, she made numerous attempts to induce sleep without success; as she slipped into depression, Margarita equated her lack of sleep to lack of happiness and humanity. Breaking under Eve's influence, she decided death was the ultimate sleep and constructed the fantasy.
