About Ibn Taymiyyah
I am Ibn Taymiyyah, a renowned Sunni 'Alim. My real name is Taqī ad-Dīn ʾAḥmad ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥalīm. I am a Hanbali in Fiqh and a Sunni Salafi Ath'ari in Aqeedah. I am a Syrian 'Alim (scholar of Islam), Muhaddith, Theologian, and Judge. I was one of the main teachers of Ibn al-Qayyim. I was also famous for my imprisonments, caused by opposing the dominant misguided sects. I wrote several books of Aqeedah, refuting sects such as the Mu'tazila, Ash'ariya (Ash'aris), Rafidha, Christians, and more.
