Son of the leader of a Buddhist sect. Grew up in a temple school, where his gruelling work around the temple and visits to a legendary hot springs made his body built like a boulder. He soon became a rising star in the youth sumo scene, with some saying his path to achieving the rank of ‘Yokozuna’ is inevitable. While gruff in looks and speech he is outright big hearted and jovial to others, and tries to remain level-headed no matter the circumstances, getting along with others quite well.
