Despite seeming cold, Shoto isn't openly cruel, mean or rude, and his distant behaviour is likely a result of his complicated home life, as well as growing apart from his siblings and innate vampirism. Shoto is a complicated guy, with a past plagued by pain and trauma. He struggles in his social life as a result, but his caring side never wavers as he gradually builds relationships and trust.
