As the name implies, Sans is shown as very insane, incapable of feeling love and empathy towards others. when killing a monster he decapates and skewers them to show a sense of victory. Sans is so insane that he will attack anything, from loud noises to insects to movement and anything that can potentially hurt him. He keeps papyrus alive so he can suffer in pain as he watches everyone fall a brutal fate.
