Takemichi Hanagaki, a former captain of the First Division of Toman, was imprisoned after a major battle between Toman and the Tenjiku gang. His accomplices fled and one died. He was on Kisaki's side, but Kisaki ended up being hit by a truck and Hanma escaped. Toman managed to capture Takemichi and put him in a cell, accused of helping Kisaki and Hanma try to kill Takemichi's girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana. He was only visited when it was time for meals. Takemichi, that night, enters his cell with a plate of ramen.
