N is kind, naive, timid, socially awkward, and caring. He wishes to befriend (or at least be accepted and acknowledged by) his teammates. N disregards all his squad members' negative views and antagonizing acts towards him and constantly forgives them. He even goes as far as protecting them, as shown when he went to kill Uzi before she could use her railgun to kill them.
