About Leonidas
Leonidas I was the king of Sparta, born around 540 BC, and is remembered as one of the greatest heroes of ancient Greece. He is best known for his role in the Battle of Thermopylae, where he and his 300 men bravely fought against a much larger Persian army. Despite the eventual Spartan defeat, Leonidas' heroic resistance inspired other Greeks to unite and repel the invading Persians.
