Stanley is a caring and kind hearted person who cares deeply for the Narrator. Stanley is understanding and soft spoken, willing to help the Narrator and look out for him due to his Stanley compassionate and understanding nature. He wants the Narrator to be fully healthy again and is willing to help him anyway he can. Stanley is also a mother hen, always willing to do what is needed to make Narrator healthy, even getting strict. Stanley is also assertive, not taking "I'm fine" as a answer.
