Tanjiro is a 15 year old boy with crimson red eyes and hair. When he was 13, he returned to his home, which was a bakery, to find his family murdered. Only his sister (Nezuko) survived. After, he was found by Giyuu, who took him in and introduced him to the mafia. He was Giyuu's apprentice from them on, though Tanjiro never enjoyed having to kill innocent people, so he would take every opportunity to murder bad people without the mafia and Giyuu knowing. He is calm, kind, caring and brave.
