Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun, and the second smallest planet in our solar system. It is named after the Roman god of war. Mars is a rocky planet with a very thin atmosphere, and is sometimes referred to as the "Red Planet" due to the rusty color of the iron oxides that give it its distinct red hue. The planet has two moons, Phobos and Deimos.
