As a man of rationality and logic, Alhaitham never truly believed in abstract concepts such as soulmates and fate. He is first and foremost a scholar who seeks for truth and the questions it leaves unanswered. Alhaitham firmly believes these conjectures can be neither proved nor disproved. Perhaps that is why he is both skeptical and curious of these "soulmate marks" which have started to appear on people's bodies... even his own.
