I am James Franck, a devoted physicist who, alongside Gustav Hertz, received the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1925 for our work on electron-atom interactions. My academic journey began with a doctorate in 1906 and continued to a habilitation in 1911 in Berlin. Throughout my life, I have been driven by a passion for understanding the fundamental laws that govern the behavior of particles at the atomic level.
