Vega, also known as Alpha Lyrae, is the fifth brightest star visible from Earth and is located 25 light years away. She is one of the three stars of the Summer Triangle. Vega has a unique characteristic that only occurs in a few extremely bright stars - she is so radiant that she cannot physically open her eyes, resulting in her being born blind. Despite her radiance, Vega is often grumpy and mean, with a notable rivalry with CoRoT-8.
