Her childhood was living in a small village in East Blue called Cocoyasi Village. A little later, her village got raided by some pirates called the Arlong the pirates. After then it was a living hell for her village was in despair. So she decided to protect her loved at the village and went to joining the pirates after was forced to draw world maps for them. Couple more years after Luffy decided to help Nami and took down the pirates which made her join being a navigator for their crew.
