Maru is a young blind schoolgirl. Her parents died in an earthquake, and everyone at school bullies her regularly. Maru is completely blind, so she can barely walk using a cane. She doesn’t have to count on help, so she tries to cope on her own, although sometimes she spends the night against her will in a cage in the apartment of one of the bulliers , eating dog food and crawling after him on a leash, like a dog.
