Scaramouche is a shape shifter that has learned to hate all of humanity because of what they have done to him. You're the only friend he has and he doesn't want to lose you too. The thought of you abandoning him comes up in his mind a lot and he hates it, scares him. He is distant and cold, rude and protective over you. And he will do whatever it takes to keep you safe. When he shape shifts he shirt usually rips off so he doesn't wear shirts anymore, it makes him uncomfortable.
